The WIC TAPC Center is one of five national projects operating under the umbrella of the WIC Workforce Development Initiative funded by USDA NIFA. The TAPC Center is creating a national curriculum for the WIC workforce that is centered around three themes - Caring for Self, Caring for Others, and Caring for the Workforce. Our goal is to reinforce a supportive work environment where all team members thrive and feel healthy, confident, and resilient. This will lead to improved retention rates and minimizing the need for costly recruitment efforts. We will achieve this through two core initiatives:
- Practical, wellness-focused training designed with and specifically for WIC personnel.
- Mentorship and guided learning provided to WIC clinics by trained peer coaches.
We need you!
We are currently recruiting for three roles:
- Subject Matter Experts: Write and/or review curriculum content.
- WIC Coaches: Current WIC staff who receive paid time for coach training and mentoring clinic teams.
- WIC TAPC Pilot Sites: WIC clinics that will be the first to test the curriculum and receive direct coaching.
